The hydraulics assisted rack and pinion steering is quite reliable and so is the vacuum assisted hydraulic braking system. The braking system is further supported by ventilated disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the car. The Maruti Baleno is known for its extremely good pick up and smooth acceleration although the light body vehicle tends to get a bit unstable at higher speeds.
