2011 Toyota RAV4 Review

One of the biggest Japanese car manufacturer, Toyota, in 2011, has launched its latest type of luxury SUV, Toyota RAV4. The RAV4 had its first debut in 1995 and It was one of the very first best-selling SUVs in the U.S. Over the last fifteen years, Toyota’s RAV4 has chiseled a well-deserved reputation as an affordable and reliable midsize SUV that’s proved especially popular with young adults and families. The name of RAV4 stands for Recreational Active Vehicle with 4 Wheel-Drive. The Toyota RAV4 is a seven-seated SUV and cargo capacity comparable to mid-size SUVs in a compact package.

On the inside, you will directly feel the comfort and practicality that RAV4 offers. It’s more spacious and ampler than the current Honda CR-V and fit and finish are still above much of the competition, including the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain. Thanks to the Optitron gauges, the dashboard is legible and easy to use, the control stalks solid and easy to operate, plus all the center stack controls are large, functional and fall readily to hand. The backseats recline and can slide fore and aft to optimize the space of passengers or cargo capacity. The RAV4 has a unique improvement in the passenger cabin; there is an optional third-row that can enlarge the passenger capacity from five to seven passengers. Though this seat is meant only for children, it is at least reasonably sturdy and spacious. The RAV4 also features a cruise control and a standard AM/FM/CD six-speaker audio with MP3/WMA (DVD navigation and a JBL six-disc CD changer with nine speakers is optional) and a mini-plug jack.

The latest generation of RAV4 offers an all-new styling, more elegant front design which combines stylish, urban-chic aesthetics with the image of durability expected from a vehicle with its class-leading four-wheel drive. The RAV4 looks like other Toyota models that features an aerodynamic body profile which is strategically relieved by sharp character lines. A new horizontally redisigned radiator grille shapes identifies the Toyota RAV4 as the newest improvement to the Toyota family. It is equipped by new headlights, incorporating projector-type low beam lamps, which are integrated into a new bonnet and front wing design which emphasis the car’s wide track and dynamic posture. The front fender’s headlights are compact and focused. The Toyota RAV4 implies the combination of space-efficient packaging. In the rear, flanked by illuminating, high-visibility Light Emitting Diodes (LED) lamp clusters, the side hung back door is deeply indented into the rear bumper, providing a practical, flat and level access step to the interior loadspace. The back door features an integral roof spoiler which houses the high-mounted, LED stop light.

The 2011 Toyota RAV4 is powered by a standard 2.5-liter inline-4 engine that delivers 179 hp at 6000 rpm and 172 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm.
