The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3-Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M. M3 models have been derived from the E30, E36, E46 and E90/E92/E93 3-series, and sold with coupe, saloon and convertible body styles. The BMW 3 Series has long been regarded as the benchmark compact sport coupe.The government and car insurance industry haven’t performed crash tests on the 2011 M3 as of this writing, but the new M3 offers all of the car safety equipment it has in the past.
